hihi! maybe I can help a bit? :dummy:

so for starters: your art is super eyecatching and lovely. I absolutely love how you do backgrounds - they sort of remind me of traditional acrylic or watercolour paintings, and I love 'em.

I do think it would be effective to add a gaussian blur to them though. the eye is attracted to detail in paintings, so leaving the parts you want the viewer to focus on (the subject, their face, etc.) detailed and vibrant while blurring out the background a bit would help guide the eye around the painting, and add a sort of 'photograph' sense to it. more like this one, less like this one this one, if that makes sense :>

when painting detailed fur, it's good to remember that less is more. generally speaking, it's bit more striking to hint at clumps of fur rather than showing each individual strand. and don't forget the contrast! I've found many personal pieces to instantly improved upon adding contrast :'>
it's possible to use fur textures as well, which give effects like so (it also saves a lot of time), but I won't go into that now~
here's a super useful fur tutorial if you're interested!

one last thing is that it's always useful to study composition. I would get all into that here but this guide is comprehensive so I won't make this comment too big :'D

lastly I just wanna say that I love the background here *A*
gold/purple colour duos are always fanastic~

HOPE I HELPED AND IF NOT YOU CAN IGNORE WHAT WASN'T USEFUL uvu
