Fortune

<sub>Syr sighed to himself as he looked out across the vast ocean extending from Starryreach.  He loved climbing up onto these high cliffs and watching the auroras dance carelessly all night long, but the night sky brought him no serenity this night. 

He loved living here.  He loved his friends and throwing himself into his work but..... none of it felt right.  He looked down at the small scale markings on his arms and thought about all the dragon faelidh that had come and gone.  Did they feel lost like this too? Should he---
"Good evening, Syr!" a voice said behind him.  Syr turned to see a large, blue Faelidh with three pairs of wings folded gracefully at her sides. 
"Queen Calypso! I'm sorry, I didn't see you!" he stammered slightly.
"Don't apologize! I'm coming to you! You've seemed so distracted lately, and I wanted to see if everything was all right?" she asked.
"It's nothing important it's just......  I want to be a dragon.  I want to be a warrior!! And I don't know how to start, I guess"
"Have you considered pursing your goals elsewhere?" she asked in response.
"What, like get a different job? I mean, I guess I should really go look for a partner anyway, I'm always just so---"
"Elsewhere on Valiore" she cut him off softly.
"OH"
"The Highwind Caravan gets into lots of skirmishes and is constantly picking fights and traveling.  If you really want to be a warrior, perhaps that is the place to start!"
Syr cocked his head.
"The Highwind Caravan??? But aren't they all............ ruffians??"
Calypso laughed.
"Some are definitely a little rough around the edges, but they're not as bad as you'd think! You'd undoubtedly find someone there that you'd like!"
Syr fidgeted. 
"But.... I've never left Starryreach.  What happens if I get lost or if they all hate me or if I fail?"
Calypso turned to leave.
"I'd be sad to see you go, but I can see a fire in your soul that even Queen Brynhilder would respect"
"Your Majesty?"
"Fortune always favors those bold enough to seek it out"
She turned to look at him one last time.
"Perhaps you can't find your destiny because you haven't gone looking for it" she said as she turned and disappeared into the night.</sub>
